Day 1: Arrival in Kunming
After a long flight, I finally arrived in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province. The weather was pleasant, with a cool breeze and clear skies. I checked into my hotel and rested for a while before heading out to explore the city.
Kunming is known as the Spring City due to its year-round pleasant climate. I visited the翠湖公园 (Cuihu Park), where I saw various species of birds and beautiful flowers. I also tried some local dishes, such as 过桥米线 (Guoqiao rice noodles) and 云南饵块 (Yunnan leek pancakes).
Day 2: Travel to Lijiang
The next day, I took a flight to Lijiang, a city famous for its well-preserved ancient culture and stunning scenery. Upon arrival, I checked into a charming guesthouse and explored the old town.
Lijiang's old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is truly a gem. I walked through the cobblestone streets, admired the traditional architecture, and visited the 黑龙潭公园 (Heilongtan Park), where I enjoyed a beautiful view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Day 3: Exploring Lijiang
Today, I decided to visit the 玉龙雪山 (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain), one of the most famous mountains in China. I took a cable car to the top, and the view was simply breathtaking. The snow-capped mountains, clear blue skies, and the surrounding nature were truly a sight to behold.
In the evening, I watched the 丽水金沙 (Lishui Jin Sha) show, which is a cultural performance featuring the music, dance, and customs of the Naxi people, the indigenous ethnic group in the area. It was an incredible experience, and I learned a lot about their unique culture.
Day 4: Travel to Shangri-La
Today, I left Lijiang and took a bus to Shangri-La, a city nestled in the mountains. The scenery along the way was stunning, with snow-capped mountains, green valleys, and picturesque villages.
Upon arrival, I checked into a cozy hotel and rested for a while. In the evening, I went to the 香格里拉广场 (Shangri-La Square) to watch the sunset. The view was absolutely magical, and I felt like I was in a different world.
Day 5: Exploring Shangri-La
Today, I visited the 松赞林寺 (Songzanlin Temple), a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shangri-La. The architecture and the spirituality of the place were truly impressive. I also visited the nearby 普达措国家公园 (Pudacuo National Park), where I enjoyed a peaceful walk through the beautiful nature.
Day 6: Return to Kunming
After spending a few days in Shangri-La, it was time to return to Kunming. I took a flight back and spent the evening relaxing in my hotel.
Day 7: Departure
Today was my last day in Yunnan, and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I packed my bags, said goodbye to the beautiful province, and headed back home with unforgettable memories and experiences.
